NAIROBI, June 14 - Kenya on Wednesday picked her squad for the 10th IAAF World Under-18 Athletics Championships set for Nairobi on July 12-16.
The 30 girls and 29 boys are de to start residential training at Milele Hotel, Nairobi, this week. They were named after a two-day trials that took place at the Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kenya won overall titles in Poland (1999) and Italy in 2007.
Head coach Gekonyo Kariuki said they would do everything possible to ensure Kenya ascend to the top of the world next month with new stars emerging from Kenya’s production chains.
