Training of the Nairobi2017 technical team at Sports Stadia Kasarani

A five day Technical official education system training organized by LOC was officially opened today by the LOC CEO Mr. Mwangi Muthee at Sports View Hotel.
While opening the training, The Director Regional Center IAAF, Hussein Ibrahim mentioned that the team was targeting to train atleast 200 people by the time the championships are starting in July.

The five day training is being conducted by Mr. Vivian Gungaram who is the IAAF lecturer, and  assisted by Mr. Francis Nyatome. The training  intended to ensure that the officials understand and apply the track and field rules properly during the championships.
"I urge those Kenyans who have the opportunity to learn officiating skills at the level of our training today, to aim at higher qualifications and increase Kenyan participation in the ITO category.

When you have the ITO certification, it means the IAAF can deploy you in international athletics meetings." Mwangi Muthee.
During the IAAF World U18 chamiomahips 2017, a total of 60  national technical officials will be required on daily basis to operate and assist the international technical official.

After the training , the team of 32 people who have been selected from 16 AK affiliates will be examined on practical, oral and writing and the ones who qualify will be awarded the certificates and taken to the next level.
